The Singer's Art
Sunday, February 26 2012, 3:00pm

Acclaimed concert and stage artist John David Adams presents an afternoon program of selected works from the bass and baritone repertoire accompanied by Sean Fleming at the piano, with rarely-heard works of beauty, drama, and humor. Highlights include Mozart’s concert aria Per questa bella mano, K.612, Ravel’s Don Quichotte à Dulcinée, and John Duke’s powerful setting of Maine-born poet Edward Arlington Robinson’s Luke Havergal. Also on the program are classics by Purcell, Handel, Loewe, and Schubert, as well as English and American songs by Vaughan Williams, Ireland, Finzi, Bernstein, Hoiby, Bowles, Blitzstein, and Weill. These midcoast musical luminaries are consistent audience pleasers and this program promises not to disappoint.

This special afternoon concert begins at 3:00 pm, with doors for seating opening at 2:30 pm.

Refreshments available. Advance tickets $15, day of show tickets $18. Special $5 student tickets for those 18 and under. Contact the box office at 633-5159 or online at boothbayoperahouse.com
